Yoga Garden Game
Kids naturally are good at and enjoy yoga. While playing The Yoga
Garden™ Game, they use their imaginations by exploring poses
named after plants and animals. The objective of The Yoga Garden™
Game is to plant a flower garden before night falls. As players move
the bumblebee marker around the board, they learn classic yoga poses as
well as have the chance to make up their own. Jennifer Durand created
this cooperative game. when her husband imitated the three-legged
plastic table that comes with take-out pizza. Their four-year-old son
guessed it immediately.

Try a Pose!
A few
words of common-sense caution and a bit of fine print: Your body should
never be forced into a position that is painful or does not feel right.
All exercise has its attendant risks so consult a physician before
beginning any exercise program. The creator of this game and this
website disclaim any liability or loss in connection with exercises on
this page.
FAQ
Are there pictures of poses?
Yes. There are 10 Yoga Pose cards that are a part of The Yoga
Garden™ Game. You can see some of them by visiting the About Yoga
page of this web site.
How do you win the game?
The
Yoga Garden Game is a cooperative game. That means that no one person
wins and competition is not a part of the game. Instead, all players
together are trying to plant a flower garden before night falls. If the
flowers all get planted, everyone wins. If night falls first, well...
there's always tomorrow.

Movement Songs CD
The Yoga Garden Movement Songs for Children were inspired by The Yoga
Garden children’s’ classes. The songs are designed to be
accompanied by simple movements comprised of basic dance steps and yoga
poses. It is not necessary to be a dance or yoga teacher to learn and
teach these movement songs. They are for everyone to enjoy, and include
notes of instruction to make it easy. Always feel free to create your
own movements and dances, too. Remember to let the children lead you on
their way- they know exactly what to do! For phone or wholesale orders
please call Jennifer at 415-298-1887 or email jennifer@theyogagarden.com.

The Yoga Garden Handbook - Seeds
The Yoga Garden Handbook offers a complete syllabus for teaching yoga
and movement classes to three different age groups. The outline covers
a twelve-week period. The first section, Seeds, is for 18 months- 3
year olds with an adult. The second section, Sprouts, is for 3-4 year
olds. The third section is Blossoms, for 5-6 year olds.
Included are detailed outlines and descriptions of the classes,
specific instructions for dances and movement, ideas for special day
classes (birthdays, rainy days, holidays, etc.), tips on discipline,
and suggestions for developing one's own curriculum.
Each section builds upon what was learned previously, although this
does not exclude newcomers from joining in at any point.
The Yoga Garden Handbook is an excellent resource for an innovative
movement program of music, dance, and yoga.
